We Care

We are dedicated to all of our students, we treat them as our family and we fight for their success. We consider our students a part of the SLTC family and we provide endless support, encouragement, and resources to help them get where they want to be. We care past being a lineman, past being at SLTC, we want them to be great individuals and challenge them to be the best they can be. We love hearing from our alumni and we celebrate their accomplishments along with them.

.

We Strive for Excellence

We have over 25 years of backed experience. At our start in 1999, we were one of the first schools of its kind dedicated to the training and development of new and upcoming lineworkers in the linework industry. We maintain our relevance and quality of training through a Technical Advisory Board who are dedicated to keeping us up to date with the standards of the industry.

Our standards have consistently produced graduates that have established a strong reputation in the industry.

.

Our Standards

Our main goal has always been, and will always be, to provide quality candidates for the industry. Because of this, we have very high standards. We will never lower the standard for you, we will build you up to meet ours. Our standards build accountability, determination, and a quality of training that is sought after in the industry. Linework is a difficult trade and isn’t for everyone, it takes total commitment and determination for the career. Because of this, we push our students to really challenge whether this is what they want, and through this they gain confidence and dedication for the trade.

.

Our Quality of Training

We provide a realistic as possible experience of what you’d encounter in the industry, in a training scenario. With a constant emphasis on safety we provide a hands-on experience like no other. During our programs over 60% of your time is spent outside learning by doing. We have over 100 acres of training grounds, giving us the space and opportunity to have more poles and more realistic line span lengths that would be encountered on the job. The certifications you leave with ready you for a successful career in linework as well as endless opportunities outside of linework. On top of the technical training we emphasize and build the relationships, the camaraderie, the dedication and pride for a career in linework.

.

Our Reputation

The reputation of our graduates has created a high demand for SLTC graduates in the industry, giving you fantastic career opportunities. Many companies' come to recruit our students, and express that they are solely looking for SLTC graduates because of the standard we hold our students to.

Our programs are not easy, but our difficulty creates a standard that SLTC graduates have become known for. If you have graduated from SLTC you have really earned it, and you’ve earned the reputation and respect.

.

Our Staff

Our hospitality is like no other. Our staff are passionate, dedicated, and truly cares about the success of our students. We celebrate their accomplishments along with them. We have an extensive instructor staff with diverse backgrounds of industry knowledge.

Many of our instructor staff are alumni that have returned to us, because they feel passionate about being a part of building our students up, as they experienced when they attended. We have seen countless lives changed after coming through SLTC and starting rewarding careers in linework and it makes us proud to be a part of it.

“The CLP instructors have a wealth of knowledge that they’d love to give to you. They are the best instructors, in my book. You see how much they love the profession itself and it fires you up. Every day they are out there climbing with us, and you want to be good, because they’re good.”
