Elective courses are one way to enhance your qualifications and give you an edge over the competition as you begin applying for jobs.

crane operator certification

SLTC's Crane Operator Certification (COC) elective course takes place during the 15-week Electrical Lineworker Program. This is an optional course that we have added to help students who wish to enhance their skills beyond the level of an average student and make themselves more attractive to hiring companies as they head out into the workforce.

Each COC student receives 16 hours of classroom instruction followed by a written exam and digger derrick truck practical preparation that is followed by a practical exam. Upon successful completion of the written and practical exams, students will receive the nationally recognized fixed can telescopic boom certification from the Crane Institute of America (CIA).

class a cdl

SLTC's Class A CDL elective course takes place during the 7-week Communications Lineworker Program. This is an optional course that we have added to help students who wish to enhance their skills beyond the level of an average student and make themselves more attractive to hiring companies as they head out into the workforce.

Each Class A CDL student receives online and field instruction that will prepare them to take the permit and practical skills driving exam. Upon successful completion of the written and practical exams, students will receive their Class A CDL license for the state of Georgia and as a result, be a much more attractive candidate to anyone looking to hire them.
