The Electrical Lineworker Program (ELP) is offered 3 terms per year beginning in January, May, and September. Students participate in academic and field learning activities four days per week, Mon-Thurs, from 8:00am – 4:30pm with a 30-minute lunch break. From 8:00am – 10:20am students will work in the classroom, and then from 10:30am – 4:30pm, they will work in the field. Additional training will be required occasionally on Fridays during the 15-week program for CDL training, EEI employment testing, employer presentations, and other similar activities. The ELP is normally completed in 15 weeks, (four concurrent months) of full-time enrollment, which is approximately 500 clock hours in length. The program is not flexible enough to accommodate any part-time students. SLTC does not teach courses above the 100 level during the Electrical Lineworker Program, but does offer some elective courses for additional training opportunities.
